"Swan Song"

In Thomas Blackshear's Swan Song, a strong Native American figure faces the sunset. In the nobility of his bearing, he symbolizes the pride of his people's history and traditions - a history that changed forever with the coming of European settlers. "I titled this Swan Song," explains Blackshear, "because it symbolizes the end of a way of life on the Great Plains."

"Liberty"

One afternoon I was watching a special program about the Statue of Liberty.  As I was listening to the history of how she was built and what she stood for, the Lord gave me a vision of the Statue of Liberty with her back turned toward Jesus who was coming down from the sky.  She is crying over the moral condition of the magnificent country for which she stands.  She was made to be a beacon of light, a hope for a new beginning and a refuge for those yearning to breathe free.  Like Liberty in the painting, our country has turned its back on the Lord and mocks the freedom from religious persecution for which our forefathers fought.  Americans cry out for tolerance, but frown upon those who embrace the Biblical values that formed who we are.  Christ in the clouds behind the Statue offers hope and assurance that He is in control, that He loves us, and that if our people will "turn from their wicked ways and humble themselves and pray, He will hear us, forgive us and heal our land"....and rekinlde the beacon of hope of our golden door.
